Noradrenaline (NA) , also called Norepinephrine (NE) or noradrenalin, is an organic chemical in the catecholamine family

that functions in the brain as a neurotransmitter and as a hormone in the body.Norepinephrine is synthesized from dopamine. It is released from the adrenal medulla at the center of the adrenal gland ,into the blood as a hormone, and is also a neurotransmitter in the central nervous system and sympathetic nervous system where it is released from noradrenergic neurons.

Norepinephrine is similar to adrenaline. It works by constricting the blood vessels and increasing blood pressure and blood sugar levels. Notable effects of adrenaline and noradrenaline include increased heart rate and blood pressure, blood vessel constriction in the skin and gastrointestinal tract, bronchiole and capillary dilation, and increased metabolism:all of which facilitate the fight-or-flight response.

Norepinephrine is synthesized from dopamine. It is interesting that with just a slight change:i.e. the addition of a third hydroxyl radical to the dopamine molecular structure (regulating mood) we get an adrenaline rush to fuel fight or flight.
